Nickerson State Park in August

We resolved last year to avoid camping in June again, such was our experience with the gypsy moth caterpillars! So I spent all summer looking forward to a week’s camping in August.

Set up, then head straight down to fish

The “boys room”

When in Cape Cod we go to the beach every day, we head back to the campsite for dinner, and we head to the little pond by our campsite for fishing and swimming afterwards.

Can you guess why we call it Turtle Beach?

The only critters I had to deal with this year were marshmallow-crazed squirrels (how patient do you have to be to gnaw away my box lid???)

And Eamon… He got very dirty most days, being set down wherever and whenever I was trying to cook…
