Izmir Hat

Mum’s favourite kind of hat is a cloche. I found one I thought she would really like and showed it to her after she had told me “no more hats!” She agreed that I could, in fact, make one more hat…

Izmir Hat

The pattern is Izmir Hat by Shana Schasteen. The gather doesn’t have quite as much “pop” on as I had expected but it’s a classy hat nonetheless. Gauge was hard to approximate with cotton and the hat is definitely a bit looser than I hoped. It is structured enough however that it sits very well despite the lack of clinginess. It has arrived in Ireland and Mum seemed to like it.
