Christmas Eve Smorgasbord

Every Christmas W’s family does a traditional Swedish smorgasbord, so we thought we would introduce Mum and Dad to it on Christmas Eve. I was glad to have experienced two already in Nashville, because it really helped me find all the right things in the specialty food store in Tucson!


We had two types of herring, prawns, smoked salmon, deviled eggs, two salamis, four cheeses (Edam, Brie, Stilton, Wensleydale), pickled beets, then meatballs, potato gratin and pickled red cabbage. And we’ve been enjoying it ever since too!

Treats and Tree

Mum and Dad were pretty impressed, even though everything was very new to them! Dad was particularly good about trying the different Aquavits we had! Who’d have known the Skane was the best of the ones we tasted?! All good things obviously come from there…
